These terms are an agreement between you and Mthabela Ventures (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/590746/07), a private company incorporated in South Africa, trading as Ovasi (“Ovasi”, “we”, “us”). Contact: support@ovasi.app (general) and privacy@ovasi.app (privacy). By creating an account or using Ovasi, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.
1. What Ovasi is — and is not
Ovasi is a personal health record and education tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Nothing in Ovasi — including its AI features, insights, pattern summaries, photo readings, condition guides and reports — is medical advice, and none of it replaces a qualified health professional.
Always consult your doctor about any medical question or before acting on anything you see in Ovasi, and never delay or disregard professional care because of the app. In an emergency, contact emergency services immediately (10111 / 112 / 10177 in South Africa). Ovasi is not an emergency or crisis service.
Ovasi is not contraception. Cycle predictions, fertile-window estimates and related information are for awareness and record-keeping only. Do not rely on them to prevent or plan a pregnancy.
You acknowledge that Ovasi's insights describe associations in the data you provide — they are informational, may be incomplete or wrong, and depend on what you log.
2. Who may use Ovasi
You must be 18 or older to use Ovasi. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure, for the accuracy of what you provide, and for all activity on your account. Ovasi is for your personal use; do not create an account for, or log the health information of, another person without their authority.
3. Your record is yours
You own the information you put into Ovasi. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process and display it back to you in order to operate the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your complete record or permanently delete your account and everything in it, from Settings, at any time.
You can also invite someone — a partner, a carer, an emergency contact — to view parts of your record. Only invite someone you trust, using contact details you are entitled to give us. This is permission to look, nothing more. It does not make that person your legal guardian, does not give them authority to make decisions for you, and does not let them agree to anything on your behalf. They cannot change your record. You choose what they see and you can stop it at any time. If you are the person being shared with, what you see is only what the other person selected: it is not a complete medical record, it is not verified by us, and it is not a monitoring or emergency-response service — if you are worried about someone, contact them or seek medical help directly.
4. AI features
AI features run only after you consent in-app, and you can switch them off at any time. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect; it is provided for information, is never a diagnosis or a prescription, and must not be your sole basis for a health decision. Where a photo or request cannot be read reliably, Ovasi will say so rather than guess.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier: core tracking is free, and stays free.
- Paid plans: Plus and Premium are monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions, with pricing shown in the app in South African Rand before you buy (including any student pricing).
- Free trials convert automatically. Where a plan includes a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription the moment the trial ends — to avoid the charge, cancel in your store account settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Billing runs through your app store. Subscriptions are purchased through, billed by, and managed in the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms. We never see your card details. If these terms and the store's terms differ on billing, cancellation or refunds, the store's terms govern those topics.
- Renewal and cancellation: your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled through the store you purchased from, under its refund process. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
- Changes: if a price changes, the store will notify you and, where required, ask you to agree before you are charged. Cancelling stops future charges; your paid features run to the end of the period already paid.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to gain unauthorised access to Ovasi, disrupt it, or probe or overload its systems.
- Don't reverse-engineer, copy, resell or misrepresent the service, except where the law permits.
- Don't use Ovasi to break the law or violate anyone's rights, or upload content that is unlawful or harmful to others.
- Don't use Ovasi as an emergency, crisis or medical-monitoring service.
- Don't rely on cycle predictions or fertile-window estimates as contraception, or to make decisions about achieving or preventing pregnancy (see section 1).
- If someone shares parts of their record with you, use what you see only to support them. Don't screenshot, copy, publish or pass their information to anyone else — and respect that their sharing can end at any time, without notice or explanation.
7. Recordings
The consultation-recording feature is for your personal records. South African law (RICA) allows you to record conversations you are a party to; if you record in another country, you are responsible for complying with its law. How you use and share your recordings is your responsibility.
8. Our content
The Ovasi app, brand, design and content (excluding your record) belong to Mthabela Ventures (Pty) Ltd. Educational content in Ovasi is curated for general awareness and is not tailored medical guidance. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve Ovasi without any obligation to you — your health record is never "feedback".
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Ovasi reliable, but no online service is uninterrupted or error-free, and we may add, change or retire features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance. If we ever discontinue Ovasi, we will give you reasonable notice and the opportunity to export your record.
10. Liability
Ovasi is an informational tool, and health decisions belong with you and your healthcare providers. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made in reliance on informational content in the app. We do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 — and nothing in these terms reduces your statutory rights as a consumer, or excludes liability for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Ovasi, and delete your account, at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms; where reasonable we will warn you first, and account deletion and data export remain available to you as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts. This does not prevent you from using any consumer protection or complaint process available to you, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version. Questions? support@ovasi.app.
